The National Center for STEM Education partners with schools, districts, and other STEM education stakeholders to design, test, and scale practical approaches to STEM teaching that prepare students for the future. Professional Learning Courses

Our suite of inquiry-based, self-paced, fully facilitated online courses addresses personalizing instruction through blended learning approaches, implementing project-based learning, supporting new teachers, and providing STEM content knowledge development.

Inquiry-Based Computer Science and Cybersecurity Curricula

Our research-based computer science and cybersecurity curricula are designed to engage students and broaden participation in computer science at the high school level. Our goal is to prepare students to solve real-world problems and serve the public good by tackling complex issues through coding.


Guided by a modern vision for STEM teaching

Our K–12 work is guided by the Center’s Framework for Modern STEM Educator Development, which identifies the practices and conditions needed for students to experience relevant, engaging, and future-focused STEM learning. The K–12 Division helps bring that vision into classrooms by working with educators and systems to test, refine, and implement practical approaches.
