UTeach STEM Teacher Preparation Model
UTeach is the Center’s most comprehensive university-based STEM teacher preparation model. It integrates STEM degree pathways with teacher certification, early and sustained classroom experiences, strong clinical preparation, and collaboration between STEM and education faculty. For institutions seeking a full, proven model for preparing secondary STEM teachers, UTeach remains the gold standard.
Undergraduate STEM majors in UTeach programs graduate with a STEM degree and teacher certification without adding time and expense. Along with the STEM coursework, students follow a carefully scaffolded sequence of intensive teaching opportunities that begin in their first semester of the program.
UTeach programs are now in 54 universities in 23 states and the District of Columbia.
